JADE at the J. W. Marriott, Las Vegas, Nv Taylor was engaged to demolish an existing meeting room and construct JADE, an Asian Bistro at the JW Marriott Hotel. The total renovation was close to 10,000 square feet of custom stone, tile, architectural metal, and graphics installations. It included an outdoor dining area, indoor-outdoor cocktail bar with lounge seating, Teppan area, full-service dining room, sushi bar, noodle bar, re-designed hotel promenade and entry spaces to complement the restaurant façade, new kitchen, and two wine chilling displays. Major challenges included Owner’s request to finish a month early while adding 3,500 square feet of public space to the scope of work. Initial construction budget was $2.68M and $412 per square foot. Final contract was $3.07M, $307 per square foot. JADE was completed 15% ahead of schedule.
